QR Code Generator

Most of you have heard of or at least seen a QR Code.  They seem like these magical, confusing scanning boxes that you could never create.  Well, I am here to tell you that if you can copy and paste, you too can create a QR Code!  You can use these at enrollment night to direct students and parents to web content.  For example, you can create an online flyer with Smore, and then create and print a QR Code for your audience to scan, view and most importantly take with them!  Gone is the day of paper (almost)!

I use this simple web2ool:  http://www.qr-code-generator.com/

Other integration ideas:

  • BVW Social Studies is using these during Jag to direct their students to a Google Form to complete to document Jag attendance as their intervention sessions.
  • You can use them to send your kids on a scavenger hunt or web quest.
  • Use them on a poster to send your audience to additional content.

Students and parents will need to use their own devices to scan the QR Code.  It is free in their app store.  It is installed on the BVW iPads for students to use as well.
