O365: How to Share a File (Word, Excel, PP or OneNote)

You can share your OneDrive files from your O365 (online) space, or you can share them from your local drive.  I have directions on this link, which is a shared Word file.

One of the benefits of sharing it “online” is that the user does not have to download the file to preview it.  You can also make a modification and not have to replace the file… and who doesn’t do their best reviewing “after” you publish!  And in my case, I am not taking up space on WordPress, which does have a limit.  Win, Win, Win!

OneDrive on the iPad

There was a day in BV where the iPad would not work inherently with the iPad to view and edit the users working files (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Well, that day o365-in-ipadis gone!  If you have your working files in OneDrive, then you can also work with them on an iPad (and other devices, but that is a different post)!

If you still have your working files on the HDrive, what are you waiting for.  Move them to the cloud!  Directions

O365: Forms with Authentication between Students and Teachers

This is a great WEB2oOL to use to collect data. This is similar to Google Forms, but it has one feature that has been missing.  BV folks can send between Teacher and Student and require authentication.

BV Staff and Students all have access to this WEB2oOL in their BV O365 account.  It is simple to use.  You can create one easily by logging into your account at o365.bluevallyek12.org . Then click the Forms app and create!

Watch my video tutorial to see how you can send between teachers and students and require a login.  This is super for quizzes, voting or anything where you want to ensure that the user is who they say that they are.

Teacher Integration Ideas:

  • Collect parent information at Back to School Night.
  • Collect data from a science lab, then share the response sheet to the class for analysis.
  • Use as a sign up for limited seats, for example to sign up for JAG during PLC.  Use form limiter to limit the number in attendance.
  • Collect data with surveys.
  • Convert office/clerical forms to Google Forms.
  • Students can grade student presentations as they watch to provide additional feedback from their peers.
  • Use the Quizzes feature to collect AFL data from students.

O365 for Students – Overview

This is an instructional video to assist BV students on how to use Blue Valley OneDrive so that they can access their electronic documents at home as well as at school. Note: the video shows you how to login from our old website.  You can access the link on the new website from Student Login / Office 365 (https://o365.bluevalleyk12.org/).

This is a link to brief overview of some of the main features of Office 365 (o365) created to assist BV students.  o365-for-blue-valley-students
